Pengajian Kejuruteraan Elektrik

Universiti Teknologi MARA adalah institusi pengajian tinggi yang menawarkan program profesional yang mengintegrasikan sains, industri dan teknologi. Semasa penubuhannya pada tahun 1968, Fakulti Kejuruteraan Elektrik merupakan salah satu jabatan di Universiti Teknologi MARA.

Jabatan ini bermula dengan menawarkan Diploma Lanjutan dalam Kejuruteraan Elektrik dan diikuti oleh Diploma Kejuruteraan Elektrik pada tahun 1976. Pada bulan Ogos 1976, Jabatan Kejuruteraan Elektrik telah dinaikan taraf kepada Fakulti Kejuruteraan Elektrik dan program diploma lanjutan telah dinamakan semula sebagai Ijazah Sarjana Muda Kejuruteraan Elektrik (Kepujian). Apabila UiTM memperolehi status universiti pada bulan Oktober 1996 (sebelum ini dikenali sebagai ITM), fakulti mula menawarkan program pascasiswazah; Ijazah Sarjana Kejuruteraan Elektrik (Msc.) secara penyelidikan dan Doktor Falsafah dalam Kejuruteraan Elektrik (Phd) secara penyelidikan.

Terdapat lima bidang utama di Pusat Pengajian Kejuruteraan Elektrik (PPKE) Kampus Pulau Pinang untuk semua peringkat pengajian. Bidang yang ditawarkan ialah: KuasaElectronikKomputerKomunikasi and Kawalan.

PKE menawarkan enam (7) program yang terdiri dari peringkat Diploma, Ijazah Sarjana Muda Kejuruteraan, Ijazah Sarjana Muda Teknologi Kejuruteraan, Sarjana Kejuruteraan dan Doktor Falsafah Kejuruteraan Elektrik. Program-program yang ditawarkan ialah:

To lead the development of agile, professional bumiputeras through state-of-the-art curricula and impactful research.

Objektif 

PKE  telah memformulasikan matlamat dan halatuju strategik yang selari dengan UiTM Cawangan Pulau Pinang iaitu:


a) Menyediakan program akademik yang berkualiti dan inovatif serta kemudahan pengajaran dan pembelajaran yang terbaik kepada pelajar.
b) Memberikan penekanan yang tinggi terhadap penyelidikan, pembangunan, perundingan dan pengkomersilan.
c) Menjadi sebuah fakulti yang cemerlang dalam menyediakan infrastruktur dan infostruktur bagi menyokong proses pembelajaran, pengajaran, penyelidikan, pembangunan, perundingan dan pengkomersilan.
d) Memperkasakan program pembangunan modal insan sebagai alat menerapkan nilai-nilai murni di kalangan warga fakulti serta memberi sokongan kepada kakitangan akademik dan pentadbiran dari segi kerjaya (career development).
e) Membantu aspirasi kampus dalam menjana kewangan sendiri melalui beberapa inisiatif program.
